The Science

What are peptides, exactly?

Peptides are the body’s own messengers. Understanding what they are — and how they actually work — is the difference between guessing and researching.

🧬

Short chains of amino acids

Peptides are short strings of amino acids — the same building blocks as proteins, just smaller (usually 2–50). Your body already makes thousands of them to run everyday functions.

🔑

They work like a key in a lock

Each peptide fits one specific receptor on a cell and delivers a single, precise instruction — release growth hormone, calm inflammation, repair tissue, or regulate appetite.

🎯

Precisely targeted

Because one peptide usually triggers one signal, they're studied for precision — a targeted nudge to a single pathway instead of a broad, blunt, whole-body effect.

🔬

Purity is everything

In research the result is only as clean as the compound. Every batch here is HPLC + mass-spec verified to ≥ 99% purity.

Everything here is for laboratory research use only — not for human or animal consumption. Figures are compiled from published research literature.

AI Research Assistant

The delivery system · Anatomy of the particle

Three layers, one job.

Every drop carries millions of nano-encapsulated particles. Each is built to stay sealed where it must, and open where it should.
Cross-section of the nano-encapsulated particle
60–300 NANOMETRES
1
Functional nano-micellar core
The bioactive payload sits in a micellar structure able to bind both lipid-soluble and water-soluble actives together in one stable centre.
2
Cross-linked hydrocolloid matrix
Polysaccharide chains bind electrostatically into a three-dimensional gel network that traps water, reinforces structural integrity, and forms a steric barrier shielding the core from the harsh gastric environment.
3
Hygroscopic interface layer
An outer coating that holds moisture, keeps the particle flexible, promotes mucosal adhesion, and lets it disperse evenly the instant it meets water.
The transport pathway

Six barriers stand between a peptide and a cell.

From the moment it's swallowed, a peptide runs a gauntlet. Here's every obstacle — and how the encapsulation is engineered to get past each one.
Stage
The barrier
How we get through
Ingestion
Barrier 1 · Product stability
Peptides must be stabilised at a bioavailable size and protected from degradation before they're even swallowed.
Protected from the start
A nano-sized micellar hydrocolloid shell forms around the peptide — one that disperses instantly and uniformly through water.
Stomach
Barrier 2 · Compound stability
Up to two hours in acid at pH 1–3, plus pepsin and digestive enzymes, plus mechanical churning. Most peptides end here.
Passes straight through
The cross-linked matrix forms a steric barrier against acid and enzymes, and moves through without triggering the pyloric valve or a digestive response.
Small intestine
Barrier 3 · Absorption
Particles must shrink enough to be absorbed — without bile salts and proteolytic enzymes denaturing the peptide on the way.
Disassembles on cue
The shell comes apart cleanly in the intestine, and the particle size allows rapid uptake at the microvilli without requiring enzymes.
Portal vein & liver
Barrier 4 · First-pass metabolism
Whatever survives is routed to the liver, where enzymes catabolise or modify it before it ever reaches circulation.
Takes the other road
The micellar hydrocolloid is absorbed via the lacteal and funnelled through the lymphatic system into blood — bypassing the first-pass gauntlet.
Bloodstream
Barrier 5 · Systemic distribution
Peptides must be distributed through the body and taken into tissue before the kidneys clear them out.
Releases its payload
The carrier dissociates in the blood, separating the oil fraction from the peptide fraction and freeing the active peptide to circulate.
Interstitial fluid
Barrier 6 · Lymphatic clearance
The peptide has to be used by the cells before it's drained back into the lymph and recirculated away.
Delivered to the cell
Circulating peptides are absorbed into tissue and interstitial fluid for rapid delivery — where they can finally interact at the cellular level.

Handling & Protocols

Reconstitution, storage & handling protocols

Best-practice laboratory procedures for working with lyophilized research peptides. General reference for qualified researchers — always follow your own institutional protocols.

1

Bring to room temperature

Allow the lyophilized vial and your bacteriostatic water to equilibrate to room temperature before starting. Cold vials can cause condensation and inconsistent dissolution.

2

Calculate your volume

Use the dose calculator above to determine how much bacteriostatic water to add for your target concentration. More water = lower concentration = larger, easier-to-measure draws.

3

Add solvent slowly

Inject the bacteriostatic water down the inner glass wall of the vial — never directly onto the powder. Let it run in gently to avoid foaming and shear stress on the peptide.

4

Swirl, don't shake

Gently swirl or roll the vial until fully dissolved. Never shake — agitation can denature sensitive peptides. Allow a minute for full dissolution before use.

Lyophilized (powder)

  • Stable at room temperature short term; -4°F for long-term storage.
  • Keep sealed, away from light and moisture.

Reconstituted

  • Refrigerate at 36–46°F after mixing.
  • Use within the compound's solution stability window.

Avoid

  • Repeated freeze-thaw cycles once reconstituted.
  • Direct light, heat, and vigorous agitation.
StateTemperatureTypical window
Lyophilized — long term-4°FMonths to years (compound dependent)
Lyophilized — short termRoom tempDays to weeks, sealed & dry
Reconstituted — in use36–46°FRefrigerated, days to weeks

Clean technique

  • Swab vial stoppers with an alcohol prep pad before each draw.
  • Use a fresh sterile needle each time.

Solvent

  • Use bacteriostatic water for multi-draw vials; sterile/DI water for single use.
  • Label reconstituted vials with contents and date.

Disposal

  • Dispose of needles in an approved sharps container.
  • Follow local biohazard and lab-waste regulations.
All materials are supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. Nothing here is administration guidance for human or animal use.
Quality Assurance

Verified at every step. No exceptions.

Research outcomes are only as reliable as the materials behind them. Every MPGA Labs batch clears a three-stage verification protocol before it ships.

HPLC Purity Analysis

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography confirms molecular identity and verifies purity levels exceed 99% on every production batch.

Mass Spectrometry

Independent mass-spec screening detects trace impurities at the molecular level, ensuring structural integrity you can cite with confidence.

Verified Compounds
